dear god;

i feel like i always depend on you only when i have problems instead of thanking you when life is going good. i want to grow closer with you; help me to open my eyes to what i have and be thankful for what you have given me. help me notice all the beautiful things you’ve created and learn to appreciate all people for who they are, not what they look like, what their background or religion is, or if they are shunned by others.

lastly, i must again ask too much of you, please watch over my family, right now is a rough time and i love them dearly and wish for you to be with them and me while going through this.
