it is hard enough being a first nations person but harder when your own people bring you down. I was just recently terminated from place of employment due to having health problems. i was the exec. Director for a delegated first nations agency and prior to taking sick leave the board of govenors were terminated by our chief and council. Negative comments circulated around the office that the director was next in line for termination. I have worked since I was 18 and have paid into employment benefits and am presently having difficulties in my application due to the agency claim that I was terminated for grounds of misconduct. I feel as if I am all alone and when you live on the reservation gossip is very lethal and very damaging. I am still not well but its like no one wants to hire me because of this negative gossip. I feel that my life is doomed
